Graham will be sixteen months old on Tuesday! WOW! Time flies! We are still having some trouble at drop off time at his new center. We even had Dean try it a couple mornings this week, but once we are out of sight, he settles right down and has good days, so that is good. He is typically in the highchair table having his second snack when I get there and gets very excited to see me!!!
We had a super busy weekend. My parents kept Graham for us on Saturday afternoon so that we could help Dean's parents get some more unpacking done at their new house. Dean also helped his dad build some furniture and do a couple other projects. My parents brought Graham back to us later in the day and so Graham had some time with all his grandparents together too. He had a very fun day! He didn't nap much at all and slept 11 hours straight though Saturday night until 8am Sunday morning!!!! That was really LATE for a weekend day!!!
On Sunday, we had church, grocery store, a fast afternoon and then I had to go to a neighborhood association meeting since I am the secretary for 2008! Dean and Graham had dinner, playtime, bathtime and bedtime, without me! But, they had lots fun and Graham went right to bed for daddy!
Graham continues to learn new things each and every day and continue to be so much fun! He loves to say BOO back to us when we are playing peekaboo and he can point to his nose and ears, when asked. And, everything gets an "ut-oh" now! And, finally, instead of just tearing apart his legos and throwing them, he is starting to put them together and build things!!!!
Graham seems to like his new room at the new Honeytree pretty good, but he got a little fussier at drop off each morning. The first morning, he ran right in and didn't look back, but as the week went on it must have appeared more and more different to him. Once I would get out the door for good, he would settle in and have good days, just took me a bit to get out the door!!!! He ate really good, seconds every day at lunch and enjoyed two snacks per day, plus breakfast too! He also transitioned to the cot like a champ. He didn't miss a beat and took his normal 1.5 to 2.5 hour naps on it, so that was great! He has more boys to play with and has found one other little boy that likes roll and tumble and hug like he does and they even have the same bday!
On Thursday, we all stayed home for a snow day! We got Graham all bundled up in his new snow suit and stayed outside all of about 3 minutes! It was still kind of icy when we went out and he just didn't like it hitting his face. He looked cute though and we of course had enough time for a super fast photo shoot!!!!
Saturday, we stayed home and had a busy day around the house, but then on Sunday, we had a busy church day. I had a meeting after church, so Dean and Graham hung out in the nursery and visited with everyone, then we ran home for a short bit and headed back out to a potluck dinner at one of our member's houses. Graham always provides lots of entertainment for everyone! And he gets so many compliments on how well he dresses! (thanks to mommy, ha!)
Maybe next time it snows, we will get some "happier" snow pics... but this will do for now!
We had Graham's 15 month appt Monday morning. He weighed in at 26 pounds, 68th percentile and 33 inches tall, 92nd percentile. She maintains that he is going to be tall and that when people are always commenting on big he his, it is because of how tall he is for his age. She was very pleased with how his chest looked and said the skin looked really healthy and she doesn't think there will be any scarring! She was quite entertained watching him play in the office. He does have all his teeth, except his 2 year molars, so she said since he got all these teeth so early, she excepts those to start coming in early too. His eye had some matter and gunk in them when he woke up that morning, so she said he has a little virus in them and gave us a script for eye drops, so that was good timing! She said to keep him on the claritin until spring and then we might could take him off of it and she was glad to hear it was keeping the runny nose and cough away. She said we can cut him back to about 16 ounces of whole milk, so we will cut one cup and that should take care of that. And, other than shellfish, peanut butter and strawberries, to keep feeding him anything and everything while he is not being picky. Then, he got two shots, which he got over pretty quickly!
The big news of the week was that Friday was Graham's last day at his current daycare center. He has been in this room with these teachers since he started last January. We have had a great year there and were so very pleased, but since he was about to be moved to the toddler room in a couple weeks, we decided to move him to the closer center now that we have changed jobs. So, on Friday afternoon, they had Graham a big going away party in his class! I was able to take a late lunch and go join in the fun and take some pics of course!
They served cake and ice cream, a rare treat for them, but this was a big occasion. They had a special card for Graham that had all his classmates handprints on it and special notes for all the teachers in the whole center. Most everyone wrote how they will miss his smiles and his waves! Then, they gave him a big gift bag full of goodies, of course once he pulled out the ball, he didn't really care what else was in the bag! Then, Ms Lynn took them on one last buggy ride! Graham got lots and lots of hugs and kisses, which he willingly accepted! It was very sad to leave this center, but we look forward to making new friends at the new center.
I took all his supplies to the center on Friday, so when we get there Monday morning, they should have him all set up. The biggest transition is that he will be switching from taking his midday nap in the crib to a little cot that sits close to the floor. I will be very very anxious to see how that goes! Otherwise, since it is the same chain, everything else will be exactly the same with his schedule. Another change is that he will finally be around more boys. Almost this whole past year, he has been surrounded by girls, including his bestest girl, Payton. Everyone is worried about how much Payton is going to miss him since they have been inseperable this past year, but we definitely plan to go visit!
We had a low key weekend, mainly around the house. At church on Sunday, there was a visiting family with three little boys (ages 4, 3, and Graham's age), so he had lots of playmates in the nursery! So, that was neat! We hope that they come back again!
We had a nice low key welcoming of the New Year. Graham and I went back on Monday and then had Tuesday off. Dean was off both days! We got the house undecorated and put back together, so that was nice. Graham is still loving all his new presents and books, especially his ball pit. It is definitely his fave. It is so funny watching him get in and out of it on his own whenever he wants to play it. For now, it is in the family room, and I expect it will stay there awhile!
We took it easy on Saturday, spent the day at home. Then, on Sunday afternoon after church, my parents picked up Graham from us at church and took him back to our house and Dean and I had a Sunday afternoon date. We went out to lunch and went to see National Treasure, Book of Secrets (which was awesome!). We had a good time and Graham and Grandma and Grandpa had lots of fun too!
Also, on Sunday afternoon, we went by the YMCA and signed Graham up for swim lessons for five Saturdays starting in mid-February. We both can get in the pool with him and we are very excited. He LOVED the pool soooo much last summer, we just wanted to give him some structured exposure and get him ready for this season, as I am sure we will be at the pool and lake tons again this summer.
This is his last week at his current daycare center, then next Monday, we make the switch to the new center, so that will be exciting. We have his 15 month appt on Monday morning, a few shots and the routine wellness exam and weight and height check. We will be anxious to see how he has grown since his 12 month appt and if they continue to think he will be tall. I will have all the details next week!
Here is one of my fave family pics from the holiday season. It was about mid-December, but I just love it!
