The weather seems to finally be warm for good, so we were able to walk almost every night this week. Graham entertains the whole neighborhood as he chattters away the whole time we walk. He especially loves it when he gets to visit with any neighborhood dogs and he tells everyone along the way Hi and Bye, his signature lines!
On Saturday, we went to visit my Granny in the hospital, she had a fall last week and broke a couple bones and is spending a few days in the hospital before moving on to rehab. She was very tickled to see Graham and he enjoyed the balloon that we took her very much! He also got to meet Granny's twin sister for the first time and so that was pretty neat!
On Sunday after church, we headed to the lake. We picnic'ed by the pool for lunch. The pool was still just too cold for us to get in, but there were several brave souls who braved it! Hopefully, it will warm up a bit more soon. After lunch, we hung out by the beach. Graham likes to throw rocks in the water and go right to the edge, but doesn't like it one bit when his sandals filled with water and sand!
We kicked off this week with a fun dinner date with Tammy, on Monday night we took Graham for his first outing to Chuck E. Cheese. I am not sure who had more fun, Graham, Tammy or me, but I know we were all wore out when we left! Graham enjoyed taking in all happenings and found a few favorite "rides" and of course loved the pizza!
On Saturday, we ventured over to the lake for the first time this season. It was too cool to get in the pool and we didn't try to sail, but Graham had a big time exploring and checking out all the sites. He really liked throwing rocks in the lake at the beach area and I think he said boat a million times as we looked at all the boats. We can't wait to get back over there and swim and sail, hopefully next weekend will be warmer!
We had a lazy afternoon on Sunday after church, and it was cold and rainy again! Graham continues to be quite the character at church, very entertaining and LOUD!
Graham hopped on the scales for me on Saturday night and he was 28 pounds and 4 ounces. His appetite just continues to amaze us, he will eat just about anything we offer him and routinely be asking and signing for more while his mouth is still full. He is on a huge fruit kick right now too, so we have fruit with us at all times. Everyone who watches him eat is just amazed!
Graham did manage to make me all kinds of neat things at daycare for Mother's Day, a wooden plaque with his name and handprint on it, several cards, artwork and a picture frame. It was really neat! We also got to walk a couple evenings early in the week and play outside a little, so that was great.
We spent Saturday celebrating Mother's Day with our moms. First, we stopped in Christiansburg and had brunch with Dean's mom, dad, Michelle and Adam, then we went back to his parents house for a little while.
We got the new lawnmower on Monday and it is hard to say who was more in love, we had to carry Graham off of it kicking and screaming and saying mine, mine. Now, when he sees it out in the yard, he says "mo - mo." Very very cute!
We think that Graham is starting to work on his two year molars, according to the upset tummy he was having, everything he ate seemed to be going right through him. I tried to reach back in his mouth and see what was going on with his gums and he screamed bloody murder! I think we have a long road ahead of us! We forgot what teething was like since it has been so long since Graham got all his initial teeth.
We had a busy weekend of yard projects. Graham enjoyed being outside in the yard with us and wants to "help." He is still really enjoying the swing, as we all are. He loves exploring all over the yard and finding things to touch and feel. We are looking forward to a fun weekend next weekend. On Saturday, we are going to visit both Grandmas for Mother's Day and on Sunday we have reservations at Kabuki for us three. It should be a fun filled weekend!
