Here I am at 18 weeks, not too much change this week! Things are about the same on the food front, still just kinda picky about what to eat and having to snack ALL the time! Now, we are just counting down the days until the appointment on May 10th. Thank goodness the ultrasound is at 830am in the morning and not later in the day!
I am trying to pack and keep things up around the house, but I have noticed that I get winded very easy. Even at the mall the other night, after about an hour, I was winded (and anyone who has ever shopped with me knows that an hour is nothing! ha!) SO, go-go-go Shelly seems to be getting slowed down a little bit!!!!
We are still talking names but have pretty much just quit thinking of any more until after the appointment and then hopefully we can focus on one list instead of two. We know we are gonna do the nursery in a nautical theme, it just depends what colors are gonna be the dominant colors based on the gender.
So, all is good at 18 weeks, I cant believe I am almost half way! But, it seems like I have still have a long time to go yet!
Here it is in
If you try to save it as Baby.mp4 and your computer ends up saving it as Baby.mp4.txt, just remove the ".txt" part after its saved.
In any event, after saving it, one may run the it in their favorite movie player directly rather than letting the browser attempt this.
Here I am at 17 weeks, not much change. Things are going well, the sickness is pretty much gone, but I am still struggling with gettting my appetite back and getting used to snacking - and trying to find healthy snacks!!! Two and a half more weeks until the big ultrasounds, we are counting it down! Everyone asks all the time if we know what we are having, so it will be nice to be able to start saying - HOPEFULLY!
We toured our first daycare center yesterday, a chain called Honeytree, they are all over Roanoke, accredited, etc. This one is right by our office, about three minutes away, one red light. It would be EXTREMELY convenient. It has recently been remodeled and was very nice. We spent some time in the infant rooms with the teachers and the little ones - so cute! We really liked it. If we pay the $60 registration fee we can hold a slot for January 2nd. So, I guess we are gonna ahead and do that and then if something else comes along, we are only out the $60. It is wild how far in advance you have to plan for this!

We had a homeowners association meeting this morning for the new neighborhood. At the last meeting in January, I volunteered to coordinate the summer block party, which was to start being planned at todays meeting. So, of course, I am pretty vocal in the meeting and got elected to be an alternate director. Anyway, when it came time to start talking about dates for the block party, one of the dates was a date that is tentatively set for a baby shower, so I had to share that. Then, we started talking about September and someone asked when I was due and so we got into the whole discussion about when the baby is due, when the house will be ready, etc. It was rather comical! Anyway, the block party is set for Sept 9th, at 4pm and I will be 37 weeks pregnant! Am I a glutton for punishment or what? I do have a committee of about 4 other ladies to help me and hopefully we can get most everything done over email and early! Leave it to me! ha!
;->
I went to the doctor this morning for my scheduled appointment, I will be officially 16 weeks on Friday. I was at the doctors office for over an hour, but only with my doctor for about 5 minutes! She listened to the heartbeat, which I confessed and told her that we do every night with our rented machine! She told me that all those noises that I was hearing while trying to the find the heartbeat (which I thought all this time was my unhappy stomach) was actually the babys arms and legs moving around, so that was exciting!
My blood count was a little low, so I am gonna have to start taking iron pills. I pretty much saw that coming, as much as I freeze and with how tired I have been, which she said is just gonna get worse. And, the iron pills will be hard on my stomach, just what I need!
And, I learned that my bloodtype is O negative, so she needs to know Deans blood type in order to determine if I need to have some shot in the butt at 28 weeks! Dean doesnt know his blood type but is hoping to find it out from his parents or in medical files, or else, he will have to have blood drawn at my next appointment!!!!!!!
So, we go back in 4 weeks on May 10th for the BIG ultrasound at 830am and then I will be Dr. Keenes first appointment at 910am, so hopefully, I wont have to wait an hour! I hope to start feeling some movement soon, but I will probably just think it is hunger pains, ha! So, keep your fingers crossed that he or she cooperates on May 10th!!!!
I hit 15 weeks yesterday and things are still going well. I am in maternity clothes full force now. I have started packing alot of my regular clothes and I guess I wont see them until after the move. I am still having trouble with my stomach too, but I am just trying to deal with it. So, since a lot of you havent seen me since I got pregnant, I thought I would break down and start posting pictures of my growing belly. As someone said, you can watch the house grow on one page and my belly grow on this page!!!! The babys heartbeat remains strong, in the 160s. I go to the doctor this Wednesday for my 16 week check up. I will post after the appointment! Let me know what you think of my 15 week belly!!!!
So, as I wrap up the first trimester, the morning sickness is still getting to me. I am trying to snack a lot, healthy and unhealthy, just anything to keep food in me, so I don’t get sick. My pants have also started to not cooperate with me. At first, I went around with them unbuttoned, but I have finally had to break into the maternity pants, some Kelly loaned me and others that I have had to go buy. The tops are still big on me, but some of my tops don’t work with the maternity pants, so I am at this odd in between stage that is just annoying. I guess by next week, I will be in all maternity clothes all the time! The stretchy pants are certainly more comfortable!
