Graham turned 18 months old on Saturday! Where does time go! We had a mostly lazy weekend around the house, the weather was too cold to get outside and I was still sick, battling a cold from all this past week. We did have a few evenings during the week that we got outside and Graham now will go to the deck door and stand and say "ou-tide." Very very cute! His vocabulary continues to just explode! He is piecing a few words together, but his standby phrases are more milk and all done.
On Wednesday morning, his tubes surgery is scheduled for 845am. We have to be at the surgery center at 745am and he does not get to eat breakfast, so not too sure how that will go over, as we all know how much he likes to eat!!!!!! The procedure itself is only about 10 minutes and we will probably be away from him for about 20 minutes, probably a very LONG 20 minutes!!!! I will try to post a mid-week update
Work has been very busy for both Dean and since this was tubes week anyway, my mom is going to come and spend the week with us and so we will just keep him out of daycare all week. The doc says he can go back the next day, but I think I will be more at ease, just keeping him home and sending him back on next Monday.
I am behind on pics again, have tons and tons of Easter pics, that I will get loaded soon. Here is my new fave family pic!!!!!
We had Graham's appointment with the ENT on Friday and he ruled that Graham is definitely a candidate for tubes. So, we scheduled the procedure on Wednesday, April 2nd. His ears were not infected, but there was a bit of fluid in each ear, that is apparently just not going away. So, the procedure will only take about 10 minutes, but he does have to be completely under. We will take the day off from work and then the doc says he can go back to daycare the next day!
We didn't make it to the last swim lesson on Saturday, Graham was up a few times during the night and I had gotten a cold, so we slept in and just missed. We have learned some good tricks for when it comes time to go to the pool, so that will be fun.
We had a wonderful Easter Sunday. We all went to the Early Church service, and then Dean had to stay and sing for the second service. My parents and Kenneth met me at home and we cooked a big turkey dinner and had it ready when Dean got home. It was very yummy! The easter bunny came to see Graham on Saturday afternoon and loaded him down with lots of new books, DVDs and stuffed animals. Then, he got bunches more books, and toys and clothes from Grandma and Grandpa and Uncle Kenneth. We went for a walk and took some family pics and had a great afternoon!
Looking forward to warmer weather and more outside time very very soon!
Happy Easter!
Graham went back to the doctor on Wednesday to get his ears re-checked and the infection was not completely gone, so he had to have a shot of antibiotics and we got an appointment with an ENT for a consult about tubes. So, we have that appointment next Friday and we will see what the ENT thinks about proceeding with tubes or waiting until next season. We are so glad to see the longer days and warm weather finally arriving. On Thursday evening, we were able to go for a walk and have some playtime in the yard, that was lots of fun, can't wait for more of that!
We went back to swim lessons on Saturday morning and Graham seemed to enjoy it again. We spent about a half hour in the pool again and then went to the lesson. Next Saturday is our last one! After lessons, we went to IHOP for lunch, one of Graham's favorite places! Then, he took a nice long nap, he was worn out!
We are excited for Easter Sunday this coming weekend. We have Good Friday service after the ENT appointment and then on Sunday, my family is coming to eat with us after church, so that will be nice. Lots of pictures will follow, I am sure. I also finally got all caught up in the photo albums, so check those out!
I thought this was a neat comparison shot, I was curious to see how much Graham had changed since last St. Patrick's day and was just shocked when I saw it, what a difference a year can make!!!!!!
Graham moved up to the next toddler room full time this week. He already knew some of his classmates and made friends with the others very fast. He is doing tons of artwork, I got a big pile at the first week from all the projects that he did in February. He is kinda starting to get the hang of coloring, so that is neat. He did about the same at drop-offs the first of the week, but was better later in the week.
We went back to swim lessons on Saturday and it was a totally different experience this time! We spent about 30 min in the pool before class, he was a little clingy at first, even with Dean but finally started playing ball with a little girl and got to having fun. Then, when class started, he was very comfy. He let us do all kinds of neat things wiht him and even went to the instructor several times to let her do things and dipped his face in the water voluntarily several times! But, we have only two more lessons now! But, then hopefully it wont be long before we can go to the pool at the lake!
After swim lessons, we went to visit Dean's mom and dad and had lunch. They enjoyed seeing all Graham's new tricks since the last time that we had visited. One of his cutest things is that he says "All Done" when he is done eating now! He is starting to say more and more words and will try to mimic almost everything we say.
He is still super active and everyone at church gets a kick of watching him run here and there and everywhere. He loves to point at Dean and say da-da when he spots Dean up in the choir loft. It is very very sweet! And, I have finally started getting some pics updated in photos albums.
Back to the doctor this week! Daycare called on Thursday and said that Graham was running a high fever, so we got in to see the doc later that afternoon and at least one of his ears was infected, so 10 days of antibiotics. He weighed in at 27 pounds and 10 ounces this time, so they up'ed his dosage to a full teaspoon. He had to stay home from daycare on Friday also because of the fever and we had to miss swim lessons on Saturday.
As it turns out, my parents were coming on Saturday to spend the night and keep Graham so that we could go out to an awards banquet for Dean's company. So, they went ahead and came on Friday and kept Graham so that we could both work. Graham was already starting to feel better and had a big day entertaining them. They brought him his very own doctor kit and he knew just what to do with all the gadgets!
So, Saturday night, Dean and I got all decked out for our evening out and my mom snapped a few pics of us. Graham was a very good boy for them and went right to bed after bath. We got home late, so everyone was asleep when we got home, but we had lots of fun!
Hopefully, we will get to go back to swim lessons next Saturday and we can go early and have some fun in the pool before class. Also, this week, he will fully move up to the next classroom at daycare, so hopefully that will go smooth as well!
