Graham - FIVE years old, twenty weeks old, Evan - TWO years, 2 weeks old old

We had another full week, with the big event of the week being Graham’s Taekwondo testing on Thursday. He had one final practice on Monday night and Mr. Abbott told him he was very ready for testing! We worked it out with the sitter that we used back in December to come to the house and be with Evan so we didn’t have to try to take him or one of us miss. She did great with him and had him in bed before we got home! Graham did great at testing, probably his best showing yet. He was very excited about it all as well.

On Friday, Graham and I delivered all the Valentines’ goodies to his classes, Evan’s class and all the teachers and the office. I am headed to Minneapolis for the week and so I was trying to make it as easy as possible on Dean next week. Graham had already decorated his bag and was excited to drop his Valentines in all his friends bags. Graham’s reading is really coming along as well. He has been bringing home reader books that he has completed and read to his class in circle time. He is all about spelling and sounding things out and writing notes and letters. Evan’s vocabulary continues to explode and he loves to say thank you for everything – when you give him something or when he gives you something, it is super cute! He also moved across the hall to the 2 year old class this week, the Kitten Class. That was the first class that Graham started in at First Baptist and the lead teacher is even the same. They are combined with his old class a lot in the mornings and evenings, so it isnt that big of a change and all his buddies are in there, so he took the move all in stride!

On Saturday, we headed to our normal swim lessons. Both boys continue to do great and we just cannot wait to get to the pool this summer, it is gonna be so much fun! Graham and I left swimming lessons and raced to Michaels for a craft birthday party for a classmate, which was fun. He painted and decorated a picture frame, then we ran some errands. We went home and got Dean and Evan and headed to the Taekwondo Ceremony and Graham got his senior green belt. He was super proud and is more excited than ever about it! So, that has been great.

We had an early Valentine’s evening for the family since I will be gone and got Red Lobster take out and had a picnic in the den watching Kung Fu Panda, so that was fun! We headed to church on Sunday and Graham got to do a special job, he got to carry the wooden cross out of the church to lead the kids to Children's church. He was grinning from ear to ear the whole time. And, was all smiles when he came back to us as well. He really seems to be fitting in. Evan did some Valentine's artwork in the nursery and we really enjoyed the service, so that is just really nice! I spent Sunday afternoon getting everything done and ready for me to head out of town and then Graham and I headed back to church for choir practice which he is just really really enjoying. So, a full weekend and week and I am gonna miss guys this week. I wont be back until after bedtime on Thursday night, so I will look forward to seeing them all on Friday morning!

Graham - FIVE years old, nineteen weeks old, Evan - TWO year, 1 week old old

It was another full week for us and Dean and I both started off the week not feeling great. Mine got worse and worse and by the end of the week, I was in full blown sinus infection mode, so I broke down and hit the doctor on Friday. We have all been battling the sniffles, but so far mine is the only one that seemed to get worse.

Evan headed to his big 2 year check up on Monday to round out his turning two month! His stats were very similar to Graham’s, he weighed in at 29.8 pounds (69th percentile) and was 35 and a fourth inches long (74th percentile). He had to get one shot for Hepatitis and was on track for all his milestones and got a great healthy report. He will go back when he turns 2.5. She said she could tell he was eating great, haha!

Graham got his 4th and 5th stripes and we signed him up to test for his senior green belt. He has worked really hard the last couple weeks and seems to be excited to be testing again and he even told me that he has never missed a testing! So, hopefully he will do well. Evan continues to be a little super start at swimming as well, he is moving in to doing his rolls and can just kick all around the pool on his back. Graham is really working his new techniques too, and getting so much better on his breathing! I cant wait to get to the pool this summer!!!!!

The highlight of our weekend was Graham performing with the choir at church on Sunday, he had been practicing his song for us a ton and was so excited. We had to report at 8am to the choir room and he got his robe on and got to wear a cross necklace (which he had asked about ahead of time). We left him rehearsing and went and grabbed a front row pew! He came marching in and was front and center to sing. They sang right at the beginning of service and then headed to children’s church. He did so good and we were so very proud of him. On Sunday night, we headed back to practice and he got to visit the “choir store,” and pick out some treasures with the points that he had been earning, so that was fun. He is excited to learn their next song for when they sing again in about a month! We are so tickled that he is involved in it and enjoying it and feel really good about this for a church home!!!

Graham - FIVE years old, eighteen weeks old, Evan - TWO years old old

We continued the birthday fun this week with Evan’s actual second birthday! He sported his “I am 2” shirt to school and there was a sign wishing him happy bday. I went in after naptime and picked Graham up in his class and he helped me get all the party things ready and then we combined Evan’s class and his neighboring class and had a big ole party. When Evan saw Graham handing out the napkins and hats, he joined right in. All the kiddos loved their cupcakes and Graham put a goody bag in each cubby for Evan’s friends. It was super cute. We met Dean after school for a quick bday dinner at Arbys and then Daddy and Evan called it a day and Graham and I headed to TKD. He got his stripe for his form, so a big day all around!

It was also Monster Jam week! On Thursday, I picked the boys up early and brought them back to the office to see Grinder and Superman and meet the drivers, so that was fun. Evan is developing Graham’s love of all things monster trucks so that is cute. We stopped at BK for dinner and played a bit in the playroom and then headed home.

On Saturday, we headed to swim lessons and then did our family split and Evan and Dean went back home and Graham and I met up with several friends and headed to the Monster Jam show. We hit the pit party first and walked around and saw all the trucks and got some souvenirs and then had some lunch and headed to our seats. Graham loved it just as much as last year. Grinder did pretty good, but Graham got a little upset that Grinder wasn’t the big winner of the day, but it was fun nonetheless!

We headed back to church on Sunday morning, then IHOP for lunch and then planned to attempt Evan’s two year pics again since the first time was a bust! Success this time! We headed to Brad and Kelly’s and they had a studio set up and not only did we get Evan’s two year pics, we got a bunch of them together and even some family pics, so that was super exciting!!!!
