Graham - FOUR years, 22 weeks old, Evan - ONE YEAR, five weeks old

The weather didnt cooperate with us much during the week, so we didnt get back outside any. Evan keeps us busy inside though, he is just starting to really be on the go go go. He can pretty much walk all over as long as he wants to now, but still chooses to drop down and crawl a lot. But, he is getting braver every day. He still is a great eater and hasn't missed a beat with cutting out the bottles or formula. And, he is still falling asleep or close to it in my arms every night. A couple nights when he was extra wiggly, I would take him in and lay him down awake and he would go on to sleep. So, he has really made that whole transition super easy.

Graham had a neat day at school on Thursday, it was Nursery Rhyme Character dress up day and he picked to be the King from Humpty Dumpty! We made a crown and he wanted a purple robe and carried one of his stick horses. They had a parade to the library for storyteller, so he was quite excited. There were all different kinds of characters in his class!

On Saturday, Graham and Evan and I headed to swim lessons and Dean stayed home and did some work in the garage. Graham is really doing well and swimming on his front and back for long stretches at a time. He loves to ride the kick board as well. We talked to the director about getting Evan started soon, so that will be interesting to see how he does versus how Graham did!

On Sunday after church, it was 70 degrees and just gorgeous, so we took a picnic and headed to the park and met up with Tyler, Bobby and the girls. We ate our lunch and then the kids ran all around on the playground and then we went on a long bike / stroller ride and then played some more on the playground. The kids had a blast and none of them wanted to leave! It was hard to believe it was February, it was so awesome! Then, next Saturday, we will see them again at Josephine's 4th bday party at the YMCA. We have had a lag in the birthday party circuit so it will be fun to hang out with the bday gang at the party!

Graham - FOUR years, 21 weeks old, Evan - ONE YEAR, four weeks old

Graham really enjoyed his Valentine's Day party on Monday. He got lots of goodies and really enjoyed taking treats in for his friends. I also went and had lunch with him, so that was nice. He had been asking me to ever since he moved to the Duck room. It was nice to spend a little time with his new class.

We had a touch of warm weather late in the week and got to get outside on the playset on Thursday and Friday evenings, so that was nice. Graham was thrilled to get back on his playset of course and Evan really enjoys swinging in his swing. He had been walking a lot all week, 20 steps at a time several times. But, he wasnt too sure about walking on the grass. He is doing great inside though. He still drops down and crawls a lot and falls a lot, but he can definitely walk if he wants too!

Dean and Graham went to swim lessons on Saturday and then we ran some errands and hung out at home, a nice family day. On Sunday, we headed to church and it was nice to have several visiting kids there, grandkids of church members. Graham loves it when "Olivia" comes and they walked up to the altar together holding hands and walked back out together. Graham is super quiet and still in church now, so that is great. We left church, hit McDonalds for lunch and then headed to my parents for a visit for the afternoon. Kenneth and Lillian were there too, so the kids had fun of course. Evan showed off his walking and they all played together.

The last couple nights, we switched Evan's last milk cup to dinner time and then put him to bed with out milk. He is so ready for bed by the time 7pm or so rolls around that all I had to do was snuggle him and hold him and he falls right to sleep. I love that time with him, so I will probably just keep doing that as long as he lets me and then when he won't let me hold him anymore, we will start working on putting him in the crib awake.

Hoping for some more warm weather this week!!!

Graham - FOUR years, 20 weeks old, Evan - ONE YEAR, three weeks old

I dropped off Evan early Monday morning and then headed to the airport for my four day trip to Minneapolis. Graham had a great week at my parents house. He got to play with Lillian three days and went on a couple adventures and just had a really good week there. Evan and Dean did okay, they got off to a bit of a rocky start with Evan waking a bit during the night, but each night got a little easier. My parents brought Graham to Dean's office on Thursday afternoon as he was getting off and I landed in time to get Evan and so we all ended up home about the same time, so that was nice. I had lots of goodies for everyone and we had a fun evening all back together.

I had gotten very sick over the course of the week and on Friday morning, I got in to see the doctor and sure enough, I had bronchitis! I got some meds and finished out the work day and then crashed hard Friday night. Dean was great all weekend and let me sleep in both mornings and nap and he took care of the boys. He took Graham to swim lessons on Saturday morning and they got lunch out and went to the grocery store and Lowes, so quite an outing for them!

On Sunday, I was still coughing a good bit, so Evan and I stayed home from church and Dean and Graham went without us. Since Graham is in Sunday school now during the time that Dean is in choir practice, it worked out for him to take him. Then, he slipped out to bring Graham in for communion and that went really well. So, it is nice to know that we have that as an option now! Evan and I had an early lunch and then took really long naps. I woke up and found Dean and Graham outside washing the cars! It was a nice afternoon, although the wind was pretty gusty, so they didn't stay out for long!

Evan is weighing in just under 24 pounds these days, hovering right around 23 pounds and 14 ounces. He is being so active now that his weight is prob gonna slow up a bit. He can take as many as 13 steps at a time, but still drops to his knees and switches to crawling a good bit. He is being braver and braver though, so it prob wont be long before he is full blown walking. His appetite continues to be great. We finished up all the formula at home and there is just a little bit left at daycare. The whole milk seems to have agreed with him just fine. On Sunday night, for the first time, I gave him his bedtime milk in a sippy cup instead of a bottle and it made no difference to him, so I guess after a couple nights of that, we will start to transition to no milk at bed and see how that goes. He is typically very very ready to fall asleep by 7 - 730pm, so hopefully it will go smoothly! I guess all his activity is really tiring him out!

Graham is very excited for Valentine's day, we fixed up all the Valentine's for his class (new and old), got candy for his teachers and fixed up Evan's too. SO, we will have all that to delivery on Monday. And, of course, we had a fun Valentine's photo shoot as well!

Graham - FOUR years, 19 weeks old, Evan - ONE YEAR, two weeks old

Graham got more settled in to the duck room last week. He was still missing his Panda friends a good bit and liked to stop by their room and say hello. We worked on Valentines and he wanted to make them for both classes, so that was nice. He got to go the treasure box again so that was a good sign on how he was settling in also!

Evan continues to be a busy little guy, on the go, still mostly crawling, but he will take about 5 steps from time to time but that is about his max for now. He is fast crawling though. He is babbling more and more and still loves to smile at you. He is still playing with all his new goodies from his birthday and he (and Graham) are really enjoying them.

I have to go to Minneapolis for work this Monday through Thursday, so Graham is gonna spend the week at my parents' house. We headed to church (where both boys were really good again) and then after church, we went for a visit at Dean's parents house and my parents met us there for a visit and then headed out with Graham. He had been telling everyone all week that he was going to his "grandmas" house. He helped me pack up this things on Saturday, he is just like his mommy, he way overpacks, ha ha! He is looking forward to a fun week and of course, will enjoy some play time with Lillian too. We headed back home with Evan and so he and Dean will get some bonding time while Graham and I are away. We are finishing up the last bit of formula that we have at home and school and have been mixing in some whole milk too. We kept Evan on his bedtime bottles through me being gone this week and then when I get back, we will go ahead and phase them out, so that will start a whole new bedtime routine!!!!

A cute pic from last Sunday when we headed outside. Evan flashed a super big cheese smile and really showed off those 8 teeth. Even though he hasnt gotten any new ones in a while, everyone still comments on how many he has!
