Graham - 1 Year, 8 weeks old

Graham went back to daycare on Monday and they were all in awe of seeing him walking and running all over the place. They thought he seemed so tall and like such a big boy! He had lots of fun the three days he was there for the short holiday week. We are still using the cocoa butter, but his chest looks so good, just a little pink and fading more and more every single day!

We had a nice Thanksgiving. Mama, Daddy and Kenneth came to have lunch with us. Unfortunately, Dean's parents didn't get to join us because his mom was in the hospital, having some surgery on Friday. So, after lunch Dean and I went to hospital to visit her. Graham was starting to show signs of a cold and she was in ICU so we left him with him my family. Then, Friday morning, Mama and I braved the Black Friday sales starting at 4am and Dadddy and Dean stayed home with Graham. On Saturday, we went to visit Dean's mom and helped his dad do some unpacking at their new house.

During the night Saturday night, Graham started showing signs of his cold turning into an ear infection, so sure enough, we went to the doc first thing Sunday morning and his right ear is infected! So, he got a 10 day supply of meds and sent us on our way! Hopefully, the meds will clear it right up. This is Ear Infection number two for the fall season now! Hopefully, more will not follow!!!!! Here are a couple shots from Thanksgiving!

Graham - 1 Year, 7 weeks

Graham is well on the road to recovery from his accident. We went back to the doctor on Monday and the doctor was very pleased with Graham's progress and said he was way ahead of schedule! So, we could stop the cold baths and ointment and just have to use cocoa butter and keep a onesie on him under his clothes! The redness will continue to fade and in a month or two will be all gone! And, he is all set to go back to daycare, Monday the 19th, a week earlier than we thought. I am sure he will be excited to see all his friends. They sent him a neat get well card this week with the hand prints of his classmates and messages from all his teachers. He has gotten a steady stream of get well cards and gifts. We appreciate all the thoughts so much! My mom spent this past week with us again to keep him and they had lots of fun and she kept him right on his schedule. On Wednesday, we went to his regular doc for the recheck on his ears and they were all clear! So, no tubes yet! And, he weighed in at 25.5 pounds! Like I said, a little injury sure didn't bother his appetite!

We also went back to church on Sunday and everyone was overjoyed to see him doing so well and got a big kick out of seeing walking AND running everywhere around the church! He is not letting anything stand in his way! He also has lots of new teeth to show off, he has atleast 12 teeth all the way through now and several others in the process of breaking through!

We are hosting Thanksgiving at our house this Thursday, so that will be lots of fun, we will have both sets of parents and Uncle Kenneth. We are really looking forward to it and of course Graham will provide the entertainment! Stay tuned for pictures!

Graham - 1 Year, 6 weeks old

We took Graham back to the doctor on Thursday afternoon and he said Graham's recovery from his accident is ahead of schedule! So, he bandaged him up one more time and said that in 24 hours we could take over! So, on Friday night, we gave his him first bath and put some antibiotic ointment on him and no bandages. We repeat that process twice a day until we go back Monday afternoon. Then, hopefully, we can go to once a day. It is amazing to see how much he has improved in just one week! Even with lukewarm / slightly cool baths, he remains a trooper!

He is still going about 800 mph walking and running everywhere! He still reverts to crawling here and there and still falls down, but he is getting more and more stable on his feet every single day. It is just amazing to watch him! Everyone at daycare is gonna be surprised when he gets to go back! For right now, even though he is ahead of schedule we will still keep him home until after Thanksgiving. So, my mom went back home for the weekend, and then she will come back Monday morning for another week of days full of Graham.

Graham – 1 Year, 5 Weeks Old

We took Graham for his re-check on his ears last Monday and sure enough, they weren’t completely clear, so the doc gave him an antibiotic shot and wants to see him for a recheck in two weeks from that appointment. We may have to end up going to the route of tubes, so we will see! We had a big time on Halloween. Dean brought Graham to my office and we trick or treated for two hours and then went home and trick or treated some more! He had a ball and totally figured out how to reach in and grab the candy and put it in his pumpkin!

He also decided that Halloween was going to be the day that he started standing and walking all on his own! So, that was very exciting. I counted 20 steps a couple different times and finally decided I could stop counting! Then, Friday night, Dean and I went to my annual PRSA awards gala at the Hotel Roanoke and my parents kept Graham. They had lots of fun chasing after him walking all over! On Saturday, we went and did a little shopping and things turned upside down.

Many of you are already aware of this, but to summarize, Saturday around 8pm, Graham pulled my hot chocolate off the end table and down onto his chest. We went to the ER and were admitted for what turned out to be a three night hospital stay. He has second degree burns on one side of his chest. The doctor is confident that with the treatment technique that he using there will not be any scars or surgeries for skin grafts. We came home Tuesday afternoon and my mom came to stay with us during the week. He cannot go back to daycare due to the risk of infection until after Thanksgiving. We will be going back and forth to see the doctor a couple times a week for him to change the bandages.

When Graham woke up in the hospital Sunday morning, you would never have known anything was wrong with him, he was as happy as could be and played so hard in the hospital. He told everyone he saw “hi” and flirted with the nurses like mad! His spirits and his sweet little personality are just amazing. The only time he gets agitated is when his bandages have to be changed. The doctor is hopeful that by Thanksgiving we will be all done with this!

And, he is really walking full force now! And, at times, literally running! A few days in the hospital certainly did not slow him down one bit! He has continued to eat great, table foods and jars, and just about anything you offer him (well, except a few veggies).

Thanks for all your love, prayers and support! Hopefully Graham is on his way to a full recovery! Needless to say, I am behind again on the photo albums, so I will try to get caught up this weekend!
