Graham is continuing to do great in his toddler bed. Even if he wakes up before we get in his room, he is staying in his bed. He seems to know the routine at night and knows when it is time to get in his bed and stay put! So, overall, like so many of his transitions, it has been pretty easy!
On Wednesday night, we met Tammy at Chick-fil-a for a playdate. After some yummy chicken and fries, Graham had a big time entertaining us in the playroom. He liked talking to the other kids and the slide was definitely his favorite part. And, he talked about Tammy the rest of the night!
On Thursday morning, we headed out early and had a fun Thanksgiving breakfast with Dean's parents. We enjoyed Cal's yummy homemade swedish pancakes and had a nice visit with them. We left there and headed to my parents for lunch of turkey and all the trimmings. Kenneth and Danah joined us and we had a very nice time. After dinner, my parents followed us back to our house. Mama and I left daddy, Dean and Graham in the bed and we headed to the mall for our earliest Black Friday adventure yet. We got to the mall at 315am! We had lots of fun and got lots and lots of shopping done!
On Saturday, Graham and I headed back to my parents to go with my mom to a baby shower for Kenneth and Danah given by one side of Danah's family. That was nice and Graham provided the entertainment, ha! Dean stayed behind and painted the dining room and the bathroom in his office, a nice dark blue in both. He figured he could be more productive without Graham and I underfoot. We stayed the night with my parents and met up with Dean at church on Sunday morning. Graham had a big time spending the night at Mawmaw and pawpaw's house. He has just about outgrown the pack and play, so around midnight he ended up in the bed with me! And, he is a kicker!!!!
We got home Sunday afternoon and the painting looked so pretty. Dean did a great job! Here are couple pics from Thanksgiving day. I have a whole bunch more that I will try to get loaded into an album this week! The Christmas cards are in the mail! And, hopefully, we can get our decorate done over the next week.
We had a busy and sicky week here! On Monday, Graham was running another temp at daycare and just continued to have congestion, cough and runny nose. I also learned on Monday afternoon that I had to go out of town for business on Tuesday and Wednesday. So, on Tuesday, Dean and Graham stayed home and I headed to New York City! It was a quick trip and I was back just before bedtime on Wednesday night.
Graham and Dean had a good time while I was gone and decided that Graham was ready to make the plunge to converting his crib over to a toddler bed, basically take one side off of it. We had talked about it in recent weeks as he had climbed out of his crib once and attempted on several other occasions. He thought it was pretty neat and Dean got him all settled and off to bed he went. The next morning, he discovered him on the floor across his room from his crib, no idea how that happened!
A couple nights later he rolled just out of the bed onto the waiting pillows, but other than those two instances, he has done great. On Sunday morning, he woke up and stayed in his bed jibbering until I walked in and he looked at me and said, "See, I sleep in bed!" He was very proud of himself! So, I guess we are on our way to transitioning!
I got whatever sicky stuff that Dean and Graham had and I went to the doctor on Thursday and got some medicine, cough syrup especially was what I was in dire need of! On Thursday night, I was out again at our PRSA awards dinner where I won an award. Dean stayed home with Graham though and he was sound asleep when I got home. It was kinda neat to be able to lean over and kiss him, like I never could do when he was in his crib.
By Saturday, we were just flat out exhausted and stayed home all day, due to the sickies, we are taking a break from swimming lessons. We had a very relaxing day at home and it was very nice to just stay put after such a super busy week!
We picked back up with a busy day after that on Sunday. After service, we had our annual meeting at church, we arranged for the nursery teacher to stay longer to watch Graham so we could sit in the meeting, as we knew better than to take him to that! After church, we ran some errands and Graham napped through them and all the way home!
We have been working on Christmas photo shoots the last couple weeks. Graham has kept it interesting! He likes it for a couple minutes and then he is done! I think we will have some cute ones though. Hard to believe it is already Thanksgiving! We look forward to some family time and lots of yummy food this week!
Here are a couple fun shots of Graham in and out of his bed!
Graham seemed to get over his ear infection and upset tummy from the meds, but he can't shake the cough and runny nose. It seems to be allergy type drainage because it is worst when he has been laying down. Hopefully, it will clear up soon!
On Monday, Graham moved into another new room at daycare with Ms Misty and Ms Sara, he has visited with them a bit and some of his friends were already there. He settled in great and we had great drop-offs every morning! He would hug and kiss me, tell me loved me and tell me bye and never look back! He seemed to have good days every day, so that was a great transition!
On Friday, we got to attend the Montgomery County Chamber's annual business awards dinner as Dean's company was up for business of the year. So, mama and daddy came down early Friday morning before we left work and kept Graham home with them all day. Dean picked me up at work and we went straight to the dinner, which was very very nice AND his company did win the award! Graham was sound asleep when we got home and he had a very big day with MawMaw and Pawpaw. They were all worn out!
My parents went home Saturday morning and we decided to miss swim lesson again, this time because Graham had so much cough and congestion. We just thought that would be best, but maybe next week, we can get back again!
Other than church, we took it pretty easy the rest of the weekend, which was nice. This picture was taken last week when we were leaving Home Depot, Graham was quite excited when we walked in and he saw the race car shopping carts! He had a blast, ha!
Graham is still battling his nasty ear infection. He would not take his antibiotics on Sunday night and Monday and still seemed to be in some pain. So, we went back to the doctor and they gave him his medicine in the form of two shots in the leg. He screamed for a few seconds, until the nurse offered him a sticker! So, he seemed to be doing better on Tuesday, so he went back to daycare and mama headed home.
On Wednesday, he started throwing up his meals, so I picked him up early from daycare. We suspected that the meds were fully in his system and doing a number of his tummy, as he did not have any stomach bug type symptoms and he wanted to eat, eat, eat! Luckily, that part cleared up pretty quick!
We decided to miss swimming lessons on Saturday, just to give his ear a little more time for the fluid to move out. On Saturday afternoon, we headed to Christiansburg and went to celebrate Reed's first birthday with her, Grey, Brad and Kelly. That was lots of fun and was neat to see her open all her dollies and pink stuff! After we left there, we went by and visited with Dean's parents for a bit and then headed back to Roanoke. Dean and Graham dropped me off for dinner with some girlfriends and then they headed on home.
On Sunday, we got back to church for the first time in a couple weeks, so that was nice. Everyone is always happy to see Graham when we have been away. After church, we ran some errands, came home and took it easy the rest of the day! Time to start another week!
This was a cute pic from the evening that Graham had been throwing up earlier in the day.........clearly, he was on the mend!
It has been a very eventful week! I headed out on Monday morning early and was in Minnesota through Thursday evening. Graham seemed a little under the weather Monday night, coughing, runny nose, etc, so Dean decided to work from home and let him sleep in on Tuesday. He wasn't eating great and just didnt seem himself. He seemed better Wednesday and they headed back to work and school. On Thursday evening, they picked me up at the airport and Graham had tons of fun watching all the airplanes coming and going while they were waiting for my plane, and then we had a great renioun!
On Friday, I went and picked up Graham around 230pm and then we trick or treated at my office from 3 - 5pm. Graham's doctor costume was a huge hit! Everyone loved it and Graham knew just what to do as we went around and hit all the offices for treats! Then, we got home and Dean joined us and we visited a few houses in the neighborhood. Graham is partial to suckers, so Dean and I split up the chocolates!
On Saturday, we headed to swim lessons. Graham is really doing good. The best part was one time when he couldn't quite get back to the wall, so he just flipped over on his back and put his hands behind his head. He really got it! His teacher says he is still doing great and not fussing as much! He still isnt real excited when we get there, but he is always happy when we leave!
After swim lessons, we got some lunch and headed home for naptime. After nap, it was such a pretty day we drove up on the Blue Ridge Parkway and hit a couple of the overlooks and let Graham play and take some pics. Of course, he was mainly interested in getting into trouble with sticks and climbing, but it was still fun. Afterwards, we headed to the Japanese steak house for dinner.
I came home with the same cold junk that Graham was battling during the week, so Graham and I decided to stay home from church and my parents came to spend the morning / afternoon with us. We had a fun morning and Graham went right down for nap. He woke up after about 45 minutes just moaning and crying and clutching his left ear. He was totally inconsolable for a couple hours and didn't want to eat, drink or anything except for mommy to hold him. I finally called the pedi office and they said to come on in. The doctor asked him what hurt and he pointed to his ear and said "right here!" Sure enough, there was lots of fluid and infection in that ear. She was unable to see his tube and I told her the ENT said a few weeks ago that it was starting to move. So, she suspected that it may be gone and went ahead and prescribed an antiobiotic this time. He has perked up some at this point, but was still kinda hit or miss the rest of the evening and was not cooperative at medicine time at all!!!!! It is gonna be a long 10 days! My mom went ahead and stayed with us so she can keep him home on Monday and then we will see how it goes from there!
