We had a fun week this past week, especially on Thanksgiving. We went to Grandma and Grandma Stoots house for turkey and also got to visit with Uncle Kenneth, Great Granny Stoots and Great Uncle Meldon and Aunt Patricia. True to form, Graham slept just about the entire day (and he didnt even have turkey), he woke just long enough to have a few pictures made to document the day!
We did some more shopping with Grandma and Grandpa on Monday and then did some errands and another visit to the office on Tuesday. We also stopped in for a weight check on Tuesday and Graham weighed in at 10 pounds and 8 ounces! He is steadily gaining at least an ounce a day! This coming Friday, he has his two month check-up and gets those FOUR shots! I am guessing he will be well over 11 pounds by then! He is finally fitting into his 0-3 month clothes, so that is fun to get to try all the new clothes on! We still play dress-up and have photo shoots several times a week!
We went back to church on Sunday and this time he decided to wake up right after we got there and visit with everyone! He was all wide eyed and smiling! He got a little fussy about the time service started because it was time to eat, so I fed him while sitting in my seat and then he slept through the later part of the service. Everyone was glad to get to see his eyes and hear him make a little noise!
Deans mom and dad are on the road making their cross country trek to Virginia, so we hope to introduce Graham to them later this coming week. We are all excited for them to get to meet him!
I am almost finished with my Christmas shopping and wrapping and I have all my cards done and ready to mail. Graham was quite the trooper posing for multiple photo shoots to get just the right shot for our card! They should arrive in your mailboxes later this week!
Week 7, and another busy week for us! On Monday, we had our first big mall shopping trip with Grandma and Grandpa (photo below) and that was lots of fun. On Tuesday, we had lunch with Dean and then went to the office and visited. We also stopped in for a weight check and Graham weighed 9 pounds and 15 ounces. If I had went after lunch, I bet he would have broke 10 pounds!!!! We are going to get our flu shots this Tuesday and I will get him weighed that day and I am assuming he will be over 10 pounds! wow!
The big highlight of the week was Sunday, Graham and I got to join Dean at church. I found the cutest little sweater vest outfit for him to wear! We got there early (because Dean has choir practice before service), so that gave Graham and I some time to visit with everyone. He fell asleep before we left the house and slept all the way through service! He was sound asleep in his infant carrier and when it came time for communion, I slipped him out of his seat and carried him up for communion to be blessed as Dean and I received communion. He slept through the whole process! Service was almost over at that point, so I just held him. We went in to the fellowship hall for refreshments and Dean fed him. And, he FINALLY started waking up so that everyone could see his eyes! Everyone was so happy to meet him and it felt so good to be at church with him.
On Monday, Grandma and Grandpa Stoots came to visit and we all ventured out to the mall to do a little Christmas shopping. We had lots of fun and Graham slept through most it! Next time, we will have to go visit Santa!
It seems like this past week was quite a busy week! Every day, we either had visitors or we were out and about. We went to vote on Tuesday morning, all three of us, that was fun. And, we had lunch out several times too. Graham continues to sleep through most everything, so as long as I feed him right before we leave the house, we are good to go for a couple hours. Everyone is still commenting on house small he is. But, to me, seeing him at 9 and a half pounds is such a big difference from the six pound, three ounce baby that we brought home from the hospital! It truly amazes me how much he continues to change every single day.
Grahams little personality continues to develop and he has such neat expressions and mannerisms. We have a pretty good routine going during the day and he normally only wakes to eat one time during the night. He is truly such a good little baby! We have had several very warm days and have been able to load up the stroller and go walking in the neighborhood and that has been lots of fun and lots of the neighbors have gotten to meet Graham.
We got some exciting news this week too. Deans parents are about to get moved here! The movers are arriving at their house this coming week and they hope to be driving across country from Texas the week of Thanksgiving! So, Graham will be eight weeks old when they get here and he cant wait to meet them. We are very happy that he will get to have both sets of his grandparents close by!
We already have a couple adventures planned for the coming week also. We are going to break out the stroller and venture to the mall on Monday. And, then we are going to go and visit the office one day as well. And, next Sunday, we are going to debut at church. Everyone is so anxious to meet him and we cant wait! Stay tuned for lots of pictures of that big outing!
I had my 6 week check-up at my doctors office on Wednesday. Everything checked out just fine, so that was good. I also had Graham weighed and he had gained nine ounces since last Wednesday and is weighing in at 9 pounds and 6 ounces! After that, we had lunch and did some shopping and as you can see Graham SLEPT through it all!
Graham continues to be such a joy in our lives. I could truly sit around and take his picture all day long every day for everyone to see. Even for the friends and family who have already seen him, he has changed so much! He is becoming so much more alert and expressive every single day. He makes all kinds of fun noises and the cutest little faces to go with them! It is so fun to just sit and watch and listen to him!
I go to the doctor this Wednesday for my 6 week check-up, I cannot believe that is already here! I will take Graham with me and he will get to meet my doctor (my regular doctor did not deliver him, as she was not on call that day). So, that will be a fun outing. I will also get him weighed that day to see how much weight he will have gained since his doctors appointment last Wednesday. I am betting he will be over nine pounds! Everyone that sees him though still talks about how little he is! He is still wearing all newborn clothes and most all the 0 -3 months clothes just look huge! Maybe in another week or two!
I have been in the Christmas spirit full force this past week. I have been playing around with some Christmas shots of Graham for our Christmas cards and that has been a lot of fun. I have been working on my Christmas cards and even starting wrapping presents this week! It was so neat to fill in the from line - "from Dean, Shelly and Graham!" I am certainly doing a bit more online shopping this year since we still havent ventured a lot, but maybe in another week or so we will be able to hit the mall! The few stops that I did make this past week, Graham continued to sleep through it all. As long as I feed him right before we leave the house and only stay out a couple hours, he pretty much sleeps the whole time we are gone!
We had a little family photo shoot on Saturday afternoon and I made this collage of photos. Then, after this, we went to see Aunt Michelle, Uncle Al and cousin Adam. Lots of pics are posted in the family and friends album on the photo album page. We had a good visit and Graham was most well behaved! Hopefully, he will continue to be a good little traveler and visitor.
And, also, in case you havent noticed, I have been playing around with digital scrapbooking. Kelly started doing it awhile back and created Grahams birth announcement and Halloween card for us and finally I have started doing it myself. It is alot of fun and a great way to be creative with the photos that I post here on the website. Hopefully, I will get better and better at it! So, enjoy!
Graham had his one month check-up this morning. He weighed in at 8 pounds and 13 ounces, up a whole pound since last Tuesday! He was also 21 inches long. The doctor was very pleased with everything and he checked out wonderfully. She answered all kinds of questions and assured us everything was as normal as normal could be. He got one shot and screamed his little lungs out, it was very painful for me as well! I got him settled down pretty quickly, but I am not looking forward to the four shots that he gets at the two month appointment! The doctor was about 20 minutes late because she got hung up in the nursery at the hospital. The nurse had me strip me down to his diaper for his weight check first thing and then he just had to stay like that until the doc arrived. It was cold in the room, so I wrapped this little blue blanket around him while we waited. He was wide awake and being so good, and then I remembered that I had the camera in my purse! Of course, this bright-eyed look is pre-shot!
